This blog is primarily a collection of articles; especially experiences from my former Avatar as an Officer in the Indian Army. I hope to collect stories of real life heroes men and women who have sacrificed their lives and contributed to the Safety, Welfare and Freedom of our Country.
These stories will help my 2 daughters understand what a “soldier” and “soldiering” is all about.
I am also hoping to bring awareness to the youth of the country about the Indian Army.
Have fun while you are passing through here. Feel free to leave a positive “footprint in time” in the form of a comment.
Naveen, no updates, and im sure you have several thoughts on the recent events in bombay.
Hey Sanjay,
Yes..you bet. I am writing away as you speak. It is very disheartening as to the events there. It was the NSG that saved our nations face and pride.
At least I hope that now people will realize the value of the armed forces.
The 5th pay commission actually demoted the rank and pay structure for our armed forces…what a shame..
More later.. Hope all is well buddy…

That is a shame. But they did increase the salaries of the ministers didnt they.
Good Evening Sir. Sorry for posting it as comment but I don’t know how to reach you.
I’ve started a site to motivate the young guns of India to join the Armed Forces & Enhance their Military Aptitude. It would be a great help if you could share your wisdom * knowledge with us all and be our Mentor.

Jai Hind!
Deepak,
I visited your site and was impressed with what you have done there. I am honored that you have asked me to be a mentor which I am happy to be. I am posting to my blog, so you can cross-link, but at the same time i can post on your website.
But I also want to let you know that i am a pragmatist and very honest with my opinion. some of them “may” put the forces in a poor light. but someone needs to question them and i will be doing that.
It is also our moral responsibility to let people know what they are in for…..apart from the glamor, it is hard work, hard politics within the forces, disappointments, frustrations…just like any other job. But beyond that, there is something that I will cherish for my lifetime…..the sheer thrill of having worn that Olive Green uniform, what it meant, the Honor, the Valor, the Integrity one develops is something no other job in the world can give. It gives you great self-confidence, a never say die attitude.. and this I can pass on to the next generation. I know many real time heroes who have seen battle in Siachen and Kashmir and carry those memories and scars with them. Happy to share and motivate.
Thanks and Regards,
Cosmic Warrior
